Habitat: The Red Splendor crabapple does best in full sun. They are adaptable to drought, poor soils and can tolerate areas that do not have great drainage. Grown often as an urban tree and is the perfect height for planting under an overhead power line.

Habit: Beautiful, open, upright spreading form.

Leaves: Leaves are a dark blue-green and turn yellow to purplish in the fall. Glossy reddish-green leaves turn purple-reddish in the fall.

Fruit: Bright red fruit that never falls and is 1/2" in diameter. The crabapples are an excellent source of food for wildlife.

Flowers: Single, rose pink blooms that are almost 2" in diameter. Attracts butterflies.

Distribution: Grows well from zone 3 through zone 7.
