Fraser Fir also known as Southern Fir Abies Fraseri Z 4-7 H 60' Fraser Fir is a medium size pyramidal tree with gray bark, flat dark green needles on the top side and silver-green underneath, 1/2 to 3/4" long. Fraser Fir is native to the mountains of Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia above 3,000 feet. Cones form early on the Fraser and can produce much litter as a Christmas tree and leaving a 2" vertical stick showing. Fast becoming the primer Christmas tree in the US, known as the Cadillac of Christmas trees.. Fraser Fir has a most fragrant smell when the buds are crushed. Does not do well in wet soils.
