Habitat:
Full sun in moist well-drained soil. Can
tolerate a variety of soils, but prefers slightly acidic.
It thrives in cooler areas, along lake shores and in the
northern part of our country.
Habit:
With a beautiful rounded
shape, this tree is often planted as a small shade tree or as an
addition that will support native bird populations. Slower
growing, but very disease resistant.
Leaves:
Leaves are dark green in the summer, turning to red in the fall.
Fruit:
Clusters of showy red fruit. Great food for birds.
Flowers:
Densely clustered white flowers in the summer.
Distribution: Native
to the eastern United States & north shore of Lake Superior
